Unbrick any Hard Bricked Mediatek Device MTK MT65xx. e.g Gionee, TECNO, Doogee, THL, Innjoo, INFINIX, etc.

I want a share a method of unbricking your Mediatek (MTK) device.

Things you need:
Your bricked phone
A usb cable
A PC with internet connectivity
A brain
Some Patience

Step 1: Search for and download the factory rom for your phone from http://www.needrom.com or the support/download section of your phone manufacturers website. Download SP_Flash_Tool_v5.1343.01 along with MTK device drivers for your PC.

Step 2: Create a folder, unzip your downloaded rom into the folder, unzip SP flashtool in same folder and install your MTK device drivers. After install, connect your phone to your PC via usb and it should come up as MTK usb VComm port device. If your PC does not recognize the device, unplug it, hold your Vol+ button and reconnect it. If that works, we're good to go. Disconnect the device from your PC and take out its battery.

Step 3: Now launch the SP Flash tool .exe from the unzipped SP Flashtool folder. Click the scatter-loading button and select the scatter file from your unzipped factory rom folder, click the download agent button and select MTK_AllInOne_DA.bin from your unzipped sp flash tools folder, click the drop down button beneath the scatter-loading window and select firmware upgrade, check all the boxes on the left pane and press download.

Step 4: Connect your device to your PC, wait 5 seconds and insert your battery. Sp flash tool should commence flashing your factory rom to your phone and you'll get a flash success message on your PC screen after a few minutes. Now disconnect your phone from your PC and give it a few minutes to boot up and wake up from its slumber.

Congratulations! You're done.

If this guide didn't hep you, you can refer to this youtube post to see detailed steps in an explanatory video.

As always, feedbacks, comments and questions will be appreciated.

  2. Was going to say thanks when I first read the article. It did LOOK genuine. but I waited because of the nature of the 'net and you never really know. Having tried your solution and now being able to use my THL5000t I must say THANKS MAN! You saved my THL5000t!

  24. Storage Type Mismatch
    Source type EMMC
traget type None? What should I do to recover my MTK 6577?

    1. Got the answer myself;
      1) Switched to V3 of SP FlashTool previously using ver5
      2) Downloaded the stock rom with complete package scatter based
      3) Write the EMMC in Window>Write Memory
4)Selected Scatter and wrote the EMMC
5)Flash the Scatter-based stock ROM and its back to life.

  26. I am attempting to connect my phone to the computer and I am getting an error stating "Unknown Device" however when I attempt to install the drivers (both VCOM and Preloader) neither of them take. I believe this is because I accidentally bricked the phone - can anyone suggest what I can try next to either unbrick or get the computer to recognize it under device manage?

    Any suggestions are appreciated...
